Rise Up
Rise Up is a global nonprofit that works to advance gender equity and justice in education, health, and economic opportunity by partnering with visionary local leaders around the world. Rise Up builds power with women, girls, and their allies by providing training, funding, and connection to a global network to help them achieve meaningful, lasting change in Africa, South Asia, Latin America, and the United States.
The Salomon Foundation will be supporting Rise Up’s work in India, one of the organization’s core focus countries, where more than 125 Rise Up Leaders have successfully advocated for improved gender equity policies and laws positively impacting the lives of over 3.3 million people. The issues Rise Up Leaders in India are advocating for include improved access to education, health care, and economic opportunity for women and girls – including strengthening women and girls’ leadership through sports.
